Limit Raised in Maryland for Civil Jury Trial Demand

In November 2010, Maryland voters choose to raise the maximum amount in a civil trial from $10,000 to $15,000 for a either party to demand a jury trial.

Starting December 1, 2010, a jury trial demand is not allowed for civil matters where the damages are $15,000.00 or less.  Thus the parties will not have the option to transfer the case to the Circuit Court.
